JAG School hallway at elevator and NCO Academy(6 hours). B017. Day 9. Task was added to take down non-asbestos ceiling tiles and the ceiling grid. No equipment left at JAG.
Alderman Library 1st floor kitchen utility room.(3-16 put on my calendar) 8 glovebags for asbestos pipe insulation, 3 lines, 6 wall penetrations. Major electric lines and boxes. Shelves full of kitchen and paper junk. Hot water pipe sprung a major leak at T-intersection. Plumbers shut down the water line. Asbestos safety inspector was on-site monitoring. Stakeholders unaware the work would be today have all been notified. 4 glovebags removed on 2 small lines. 4 glovebags remain on single large line. Also crew was not prepared with necessary tools outlined in Govebag Procedure. Need a contents list and storage box to stay in work van or be able to put back in the van.

Glovebag Procedure for Pipe Insulation
Billy Method– If glovebag impractical, you still use all the other techniques. Add latex gloves to the routine.
Pinn Hall (Jordan) 2-16. Two locations above drop ceiling. Asbestos & fiberglass insulation. Black Mastic (paint that seals fibers) & Mag (solid asbestos insulation on elbows/joints) are connected by fiberglass.
Clean out cargo van to asbestos dumpster. You see the 11 asbestos doors from Fri 3-17.
Help install/replace/repair signs at Leake Building, Carruthers, McCormick & Edgemont stop sign. Build frames for large signs. Load snowblowers to be hauled to storage.
Alderman Library 1st floor kitchen utility room (6 hours). Day 2. Final 4 glovebags removed from Friday. Complete. (15 photos)
Install/ repair/ replace various signs(8 hours). 3 Valet spaces Medical Center garage. Adjust shuttle banner. Paint blue the scratches on Hospital sign. 3 Reserved Parking at main heating plant hospital west. Retrieve Northridge sign around back at dumpster. Pinn (Jordan) Hall partial containment for plumbers. Room 3-15 plastic barriers for work above entire drop ceiling where the asbestos is located. To install 40 feet of pipe and 2 core drills into 4th floor through the asbestos. Previously on Fri/Sat 11-18/19-2016 and several days/rooms Mon 10-5-2015.
Another problem with Safety Department. Claims that yesterday between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. a Decibel Noise Recorder in sheet metal shop was tampered with, batteries removed and replaced, and hastily reassembled. Clark sidewalk steam tunnel asbestos repair for summer wall reinforcement. Day 1. Unprepared. Air gas monitors not charged because there was no notice.
(3-30 comment) I am not the actual supervisor so I'm often the last to know, which makes it hard to prepare. Some of my statements sound fine from a manager, but sound like challenge to authority from labor trying to advance to project manager. Planning the future is harder than logging daily activity. I will always archive this work journal as a role model to show how to break through the stigma of your current job.

(3-31 comment) New talk that AIM (payroll interface) won't accomodate university-required flexible schedules, won't balance weekdays off with weekend work. Sometimes 40 hours counts as 8 hours overtime and 8 hours leave if your schedule was Tuesday thru Saturday. This only occurs because management over-ride the software to make the schedule fit into non-flexible Mon–Fri format. Timesheets.
