Another problem with Safety Department. Claims that yesterday between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. a Decibel Noise Recorder in sheet metal shop was tampered with, batteries removed and replaced, and hastily reassembled. So today was a meeting and new policy that doors must be locked at all times. I'm not quick to believe the accuser. The Safety Department itself has tampered with my Air Gas Monitor (Mon 6-27-2016) by not documenting service and chain of custody. More recently Safety was unable to find a USB infra-red reader for the Air Gas Monitor in order to perform service. (Fri 1-13-2017) Safety said they asked the plumbers, who have the calibration station. Later the plumbers told me they do have the USB reader. The specialized Asbestos Safety Inspectors have also come under scrutiny for creating the appearance that all air samples are negative for asbestos and not actually analyzed under the microscope. The first tip-off was the documentation stopped coming. After telling the Director, some exposure sheets were delivered to asbestos department. But not the current year. So back to the Director. More sheets came. Since then there are very few personal air samples taken. With the data dump, I was finally able on 10-22-2015 to "close out" a job from 9-24-2014 where horse hair turned out to be 90% amosite asbestos. The attitude of the inspector was another tip-off summarized 11-12-2015 Week 7.
