Sun 8-14-2016. Work scheduled for 7 am. One glovebag of pipe insulation, patch exposed ends. Most recent activity Fri 8-5-2016 set up for this, then cancel.


Fri 8-12-2016. Pavilion 5. Wrap radiator in plastic, transport in box truck 178 to lead dumpster. Forklift to toss radiator into lead dumpster.

Physics Library 326. (A) Prep for containment. Remove floor carpet / 2 layers of vynil tile (non-asbestos above asbestos). Leave the black mastic. (B) Two 14-foot vertical pipes with asbestos insulation through 2 drop ceilings. Patch exposed ends. Previous activity on Tuesday.


Thu 8-11-2016. Sick day.


Wed 8-10-2016. Thornton C105 Mechanical Chase. The pipe is determined non-asbestos.

Chemistry 4th floor chase. Cut out 3 clusters of pipes with asbestos insulation.

Women's Center Corner Building. Wipe down mildew on walls of upstairs bathroom.

Chemistry 5th floor. Pick up, bag and dispose of ducts, dampers, insulation with asbestos. 5 bags.

Department meeting.


Tue 8-9-2016. Chemistry 239. Replace ceiling tiles in drop ceiling.

Help Sign Shop. Assemble room tags for building at Wise campus.

Physics Library 326. Tomorrow 1 pm to 2:30 pm library to close. Hang and remove glovebags for 2 vertical lines 14 feet through 2 drop ceilings. Patch exposed ends.


Mon 8-8-2016. Private Clinics hallway 3rd floor. Strip of floor tile / mastic.

Private Clinics Pediatrics CDW 3601. Floor carpet / tile / mastic. Bring to completion.

Physics Library 3rd floor. Pipe insulation and floor tile.

4th Annual Townhall. (A) Results of last year's first-ever Survey to critique a supervisor. Results were passed on to supervisor only if 2 or more surveys were submitted. If you were the only person to rate your supervisor, then your survey was excluded from participation. (B) In response to complaints that some job openings are posted and some are not, UVA has the discretion for competitive hiring or direct hiring. (C) Retirees are no longer brought back to work part-time in their old position because it's not allowed and new people should be hired if there's a need. (D) Days reported lost to safety incidents fell since last year's verbal "no accidents policy" so we can be #1 in safety and a private contractor had recently died of electrocution working at UVA.

Explanation Week 29 to avoid leave and overtime in same week. Problem occurs when time keeper accounts for all 8 hours in a weekday. If you input only hours worked, the problem of taking your leave at half price does not occur.
